Wedding Dress Inspiration
Film award season is well and truly underway. This week was the Golden Globes, next week it’ll be the Baftas and then it’s the big one; the Oscars. I’m a bit of a film fan, so I love seeing who the winners are and celebrating when my favourites win their category. But as interested as I am in the spectacle of the event; it’s just as important for me to see the outfits. The lace, the chiffon, the taffeta, the satin and the velvet. It’s a chance to see high fashion on display and I love it. Red carpet fashion can be a great source of inspiration for your wedding too with many of us choosing the elements that we see on the red carpet to influence our wedding dress styles.
Cold shoulder sleeves are a trend from summer that doesn’t seem to be going away. Sarah Jessica Parker, Nicole Kidman, Michelle Williams, Hailee Steinfeld and Sofia Vergara are just some of the celebrities who opted for this style. But the winner for me was Drew Barrymore in a beaded Monique Lhuillier gown, looking absolutely stunning.

Not only did Emma Stone win Best Actress in a Musical, she also stole the show in her star covered Valentino gown and you will find a similar motif in the Stardust dress by Eliza Jane Howell.

Gold and Champagne
No, I’m not talking about the after-party, I’m actually talking about the colours. Gold and Champagne hues were popular choices for this year’s ceremony, with Sarah Paulson, Annette Bening and Naomie Harris all opting for gold and champagne full length embellished gowns. My personal favourite was Naomi Harris in her gold Armani Prive gown, complete with accessories by Tiffany.

I can’t wait to see what they wear at the Baftas.
