We’re partial to an edgy look at Nuptial HQ and as this blog post and this Instagram post proves, we’re even bigger fans of the leather jacket look as well. If customised leather jackets are your thing too, then you’re going to love Born to Thread.
Born To Thread was created in 2013 by Bridie Rimmer. From her studio in North Yorkshire, she has lovingly produced bespoke garments, including dresses, tops and skirts in tulle and satin. 2017 sees the launch of her range of customised faux leather jackets, perfect for badass brides everywhere. We spoke to Bridie who told us more about her collection.
“My interest for creating jackets for brides came from making my first bespoke wedding dress for a lady last year, I really enjoyed making the dress and wanted to offer something a little bit different to the market. The idea slowly developed in the summer when I came across the white and pink leatherette and thought this would make great leather jackets for brides.”

“I love a challenge when it comes to sewing so I decided to put my ideas into motion and was delighted with the outcome of the design. The great thing about these jackets is they can be used as everyday wear and can also be kept as lovely keepsake.”
“Yorkshire is such a beautiful place to live and work there is so much inspiration from scenery around us and its right on our doorstep! My inspiration comes from a wide variety of things, I absolutely love colour and experimenting, especially with fabrics. I love researching and being inspired by different cultures, music, museums and the history of fashion; the Victorian era, 1920s and 1950s are always personal favourites. I believe everything can inspire you.”
