The arrival of 2017 saw the East Yorkshire city of Hull crowned as the European City of Culture and we thought there was no better way to celebrate that achievement than by choosing our Wedding Venue of the Month from the very same city.
Located just 20 minutes from the city centre, Rise Hall is the jewel in the crown of East Yorkshire. Steeped in history and set in 27 acres of landscaped grounds, it’s surrounded by idyllic countryside and has outstanding views.
Eagle-eyed readers may recognise Rise Hall from Channel 4 TV programme, ‘Sarah Beeny’s Restoration Nightmare’, where viewers saw property expert Sarah and her husband Graham Swift rescue the grand building from the brink of dereliction, turning it into a incredibly luxurious wedding and events venue.
One of the many things that sets Rise Hall apart is that couples hiring the house and the grounds for their wedding get exclusive use of the house. The entire venue (including the 29 bedrooms) becomes theirs for the duration of their stay.
With several lavish rooms to choose from, the team at Rise can cater for both large celebrations or smaller, more intimate gatherings. Preferring to focus on the couple, rather than a ‘package’ there is an experienced Wedding Planner on hand to ensure that couples get the perfect wedding that they envisaged.(All images courtesy of Photography by Ally Byrom)
