A West Yorkshire wedding with pastels colours and Liberty prints

It’s still freezing cold here in Yorkshire and summer seems like a very distant memory. So, if, like us, you’re missing the sunshine, then you’re going to love today’s summer wedding. Nicole and Duncan got married last August on a perfect summer’s day surrounded by their nearest and dearest. Their wedding incorporated their personal style, with Liberty prints, lots of music and not one, but two wedding dresses.

(All images by Asim Raja, AIA Photography)Nicole looked simply stunning in her Essence of Australia gown, picked from the range at Limelight Occasions, Huddersfield. The groom’s suit was from Topman, with a handmade tie made from Liberty fabric.

Says Nicole, “My favourite part of the day was seeing Duncan as I came down the aisle. I was so happy to finally see him and for our day to have arrived! He looked so handsome and I’ll never forget the look on his face.”The bridesmaids wore mismatched outfits in complimentary pastel colours, with matching handmade belts also made from Liberty fabric. In fact, Liberty prints featured throughout the wedding, from the stationary, to the groom’s tie, the seating plan and even to the favours. “My mum helped with amazing details, and had such an eye for all our handmade table decorations”. The official photographs were taken in the countryside surrounding Huddersfield, as well as at the reception venue, The Moorlands Inn, Halifax. “Our photographer, Asim from AIA Photography, took stunning shots that made me so happy that I’ll be able to enjoy them for years to come” – Nicole.“The best man’s speech was also very special. He wrote a song and was accompanied on strings by his lovely wife and daughters. He sang along with a photo slideshow. It was very special and touching to see faces that couldn’t be with us on the day”.“We had live music throughout the day and night, including the baby grand piano at the venue, my sister singing to my first dance and my dad playing drums later on. I even got to sing a song for Duncan, which was a nice surprise”

“I loved our wedding. It was exactly how I imagined it  with amazing weather, a fancy car and the man I love on my arm. It had such a family feel, but it was so great that we could have close friends there too. Everything was so personal and I feel like all the details really reflected us as a couple, from the memorable place names used a table names to the Krispy Kreme hats we wore as we cut the doughnuts. It was all very ‘us’. I loved it”.
